Music Box

                 his project idea came to

                 me from the love of music

                 boxes by my father-in-law. 

                 The marquetry top is actually an etude from marquetry school.  The technique is the classic method, called “Piece by Piece” or Separate Packs”.  It requires the marqueteur to cut the pieces and then cut out the background (fond).  The project is then assembled and finished.  The music works are from Switzerland and play Paganini’s Rhapsody.
